WAVE Editorial
Operations The creation of each issue is a three part process which includes the
following. News
Monitoring - We get at least 7 news feeds at the WAVE Report. It is
our intent to keep up with this on a daily basis but frequently we get
behind because of issue length limitations. News stories which merit
inclusion in WAVE fall into two categories: next issue and later issue.
If they are for the next issue they are put into either Hot Topics or
Topic of the Issue. Issue
Assembly - We attempt to maintain a backlog of issues which are ready
for distribution. That is, when a hot news story comes in or we have
one to report, there is an issue ready for use based on contents from
the "later issue" category above. This next backlog issue is then expanded
to include the current news. Dispatch
- Once the assembly, integration, and proofing has begun we work as
quickly as possible to ready the issue for distribution. Distribution
is accomplished by sending the issue to our mailing list provider. Typically
an issue is out to the complete list within 20 minutes after we release
it. |
