***TECF Members Join Forces to Combat Phishing

The Trusted Electronic Communications Forum (TECF) is a global,
cross-industry consortium of industry-leaders focused on efforts
to combat the phishing and spoofing attacks that lead to identity
theft and brand distrust. The TECF is comprised of some of the
most influential knowledge-leaders in retail, telecommunications,
financial services, banking and technology that have joined
forces to eliminate the threat of phishing to e-mail and e-
commerce.

TECF’s goal is the promotion of standards for technology, best
practices and prosecution against phishers. To achieve this, the
organization will consist of four working groups, each with a
distinct focus: technology standards, best practices, social
engineering and government affairs. Through the combined efforts
of these working groups, the organization objectives are to lead
the push to determine and deploy an industry-wide standard
solution.

Mission Statement: The TECF is a global, cross-industry
consortium of companies that researches and promotes standards
mitigating the risks posed by phishing, spoofing and identity
fraud and their negative effects on the Internet and e-messaging
landscape.
