***Stereographics Announces 2 New Stereo3D Monitors, Player
(April 15)
StereoGraphics Corporation, a supplier of Stereo3D visualization
products, today launched two new SynthaGram Glasses-Free 3D
monitors, the 182 and 222, as well as the SynthaGram Player.
StereoGraphics now has four SynthaGram monitors meeting a range
of potential applications for 3D. The SynthaGram Player has the
ability to run movies and slide shows.
The SynthaGram offers Stereo3D visualization with wide viewing
angles and does not require special eyewear. The SynthaGram uses
lenticular technology rather than raster barriers. StereoGraphic
claims that the lenticular approach creates images that are
brighter, without surface reflections and distracting pattern
noise.
According to StereoGraphics, the SynthaGram is ideal for public
display settings. Applications include in store retail displays,
arcades, gaming, corporate lobbies, boardrooms, tradeshow booths
and kiosks, automotive dealerships, museums, and theme parks.
StereoGraphics now has four SynthaGram models available, each
with possible applications:
SynthaGram 422 - the largest plasma display at 42", for public
space displays and presentations such as corporate lobbies, theme
parks or retail, where it is necessary to catch the attention of
a large audience.
SynthaGram 222 - a very high resolution 3D LCD monitor, at 3840 x
2400. This monitor offers 3D images for users in scientific and
medical fields, and wherever the clarity of images is critical.
Stereographics claims it approaches photographic quality and is
equivalent to viewing images with CrystalEyes, the standard of
stereo viewing in molecular modeling, aerial mapping, and
industrial virtual reality.
SynthaGram 202 - the mid-range monitor, with resolution of 1600 x
1200. It can be used for both desktop and countertop displays
such as retail point of purchase or tradeshow booths.
SynthaGram 182 - with a resolution of 1280 x 1024, it is designed
for desktop displays and special applications such as arcades and
gaming.
Content Creation and Playback - The SynthaGram comes with a
content creation toolkit, a compatible graphics card, 3D Studio
Max/VIZ and Maya (Q2 2003) plug-ins, and the SynthaGram Player.
With the addition of the SynthaGram Player to the product line,
the technology infrastructure is now in place to develop and
playback photographic, movie, video and computer generated 3D
content on the SynthaGram monitor. The SynthaGram Player works
with SynthaGram plug-ins and allows content to be played on any
SynthaGram Monitor.
All four models of the SynthaGram Monitor are currently
available. The SynthaGram Player is included with every
SynthaGram monitor. SynthaGram suggested retail prices range from
US $4,495 for the 182 to US $17,995 for the 222.
The SynthaGram 182 has a special limited-time introductory price
of only US $2,995. This offer is good until June 30th, 2003.
