***Pen&Internet and FingerSystem Announce OEM Agreement
(April 8)
Pen&Internet, LLC, a developer of electronic ink and handwriting
recognition technologies, and FingerSystem, a manufacturer of
electronic pens, today announced a worldwide OEM agreement.
FingerSystem will include Pen&Internet's riteMail handwritten
email and unified note taking software and ritePen handwriting
recognition utility with every unit of its i-pen Mouse, a pen-
shaped optical mouse. The i-pen solution is slated for commercial
availability in the second quarter of 2003.
Using optical navigation technology, the FingerSystem i-pen Mouse
is an input, writing and drawing device that looks and feels like
a pen. The device is designed to work in mouse mode for point-
and-click action, and in pen mode for writing and drawing
actions. The i-pen Mouse can be used on most surfaces and
requires little space to write on, ideal for laptop users and
limited workspaces.
Produced by Pen&Internet, riteMail allows users to take
electronic ink notes to be emailed, fully edited, text and shape
recognized, exported and stored. With the ritePen handwriting
recognition and pen utility tool, users can navigate the desktop
and write on the full screen in smooth electronic ink -- and
their handwriting is automatically converted into text and
entered into target applications.
i-pen Mouse, complete with riteMail and ritePen, is available for
Microsoft Windows 98/NT/ME/2000/XP computers with a USB Port.
Suggested U.S. retail price is $99.95. It is slated for
commercial availability in the second quarter of 2003.
