***ECB Announces Two Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 Certifications
(March 19)

The Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board (ECB) announced today that it
has granted Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 certification for one cable modem,
and the Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualification status to one CMTS, in
Euro-DOCSIS Certification Wave 10. To date, 5 Euro-DOCSIS 1.1
cable modems from 4 suppliers are certified and 8 Euro-DOCSIS 1.1
CMTSs from 5 suppliers are qualified. One Euro-DOCSIS 1.0 cable
modem was certified. This modem is added to the list of thirty-
seven previously certified Euro-DOCSIS 1.0 stand-alone cable
modems from twenty-two companies.

Motorola certified with its cable modem SURFboard SB4100E and was
qualified for the first time with a CMTS (BSR 1000RE).

Toshiba was certified for the sixth time with a Euro-DOCSIS 1.0
cable modem (PCX2600).

The Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board welcomed as new members the
two German operators Ish and Tele Columbus. The Euro-DOCSIS
Certification Board now consists of 9 European cable operators
(Casema, Essent, Ish, NetCologne, NTL, Tele Columbus, Telenet,
Telewest and UPC). It grants certification to Euro-DOCSIS 1.0 and
1.1 compliant cable modems, and the qualified status to CMTS
equipment and cable modems in DVB-C set-top boxes, based on lab
tests completed by tComLabs.
