Linksys, a global manufacturer of broadband, wireless and
networking hardware for home environments, today announced its
line of wired and wireless networking hardware is being used in
the deployment of "Home Networking from Cox." Cox
Communications, Inc. is currently deploying this new service to
High Speed Internet customers in markets across the country.
Internet subscribers can purchase hardware and professional
support services from Cox. "Home Networking from Cox" includes
the installation and configuration of a broadband router, a
networking card for a second computer, all required cabling,
professional installation and ongoing assistance with
troubleshooting the network.
Linksys is providing its wired 4-port EtherFast Broadband Router
(BEFSR41), Wireless Router (BEFW11S4) and its line of wired and
wireless network cards for desktop or notebook computers for the
Home Networking from Cox solution. Along with the equipment, Cox
provides installation of the router, network cards and cabling to
get two computers networked and sharing the Internet, as well as
a printer and files. A home networking package starts at $199.95
for professional installation and equipment with a 12-month
service agreement, and $9.95 per month for ongoing network
support and troubleshooting. Prices and promotions vary by
market.
