***CP Orange Thailand Selects Gamma Projects for Build-Out and
Management of Largest Capacity 2.5G Network in Asia
(March 18)
Gamma Projects, a provider of network infrastructure management
software, today announced it has been awarded a $2 million
contract with CP Orange in Thailand for the build-out and
management of the largest capacity General Packet Radio Service
(GPRS) network in Asia Pacific and the first network of its type
in Thailand.
CP Orange will use Gamma Projects' NetOne software suite for the
building and management of a GSM 1800 MHz wire-free network on
which it will offer a range of 2.5G services under the Orange
brand name.
Gamma NetOne is an Oracle-based integrated suite of software that
allows telecom service providers to manage all phases from
network rollout to operations and maintenance. The Gamma NetOne
suite of software has been designed to streamline the process of
developing, implementing and optimizing mobile communications
networks. In addition, Gamma NetOne, when web deployed, enables
field technicians to access data over a WAN, VPN or through an
appropriately configured firewall.
CP Orange plans to capture a third of Thailand's flourishing
mobile phone industry within the next 5 years and is launching
with an initial capacity of 1.1 million subscribers, which will
be increased later to 2 million. The service is projected to
break even in two years.
