***Gefen's VGA-In Digital-Out Solution Widens Computer Access to
Apple's Line of Digital Flat Panel Displays

Gefen has announced the availability of the ex-tend-it VGA to ADC
Conversion Box, a solution for computer users who want to connect
an Apple flat panel digital display to a Titanium PowerBook or
any legacy computer with analog (VGA) graphics ports.

In the broadcast and corporate markets, this device also provides
a means for legacy computers to attach to digital projectors,
bypassing the VGA input of these devices. (A less expensive unit
with a DVI connector will be released that complements this ADC
connector version.)

Without this Conversion Box, it is not possible to connect an
Apple flat panel display to a computer unless the computer is
equipped with an ADC graphics port, which just recently became
available on Macintosh G4 computers.

One of the greatest benefits of the VGA to ADC Conversion Box is
that it preserves image quality and resolution after the A/D
conversion. As an external device that sits next to the computer,
system stability is more easily maintained during signal
transition.

To install, users simply connect the flat panel display to the
ADC output on the Conversion Box, then connect the computer to
the Conversion Box's VGA input using the VGA (M-F) cable
provided. Within the Conversion Box, an analog to digital scaling
takes place and the digital (DVI) signal is then converted to an
ADC compatible connection using an external power supply to power
the flat panel display.

Conversely, there's an ex-tend-it solution for those who want to
connect a newer G4 computer with an ADC graphics port to an
analog (VGA) monitor. The DVI to ADC Conversion Box is another
solution that enables users to connect older computers with a DVI
graphics port to Apple's flat panel digital displays. Another
benefit of the DVI to ADC Conversion Box is its ability to
connect to the flat panel display from up to 35-feet from the
computer without loss of pixels. It can also be used to add a
second flat panel display to any workstation when a second DVI
graphics port is installed.

Both the VGA to ADC Conversion Box ($399.00) and the DVI to ADC
Conversion Box ($199.00) are available.
