***Zaxwerks Announces 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 for Adobe After
Effects
(January 7)
Zaxwerks has announced the 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 for Adobe After
Effects. The Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 is a plug-in for
creating high quality 3D titles for motion graphics professionals
with a fully featured 3D environment. The 3D Invigorator bases
its real-time 3D animation previews on Apple's OpenGL extensions
to provide instant feedback directly in the After Effects
interface. Zaxwerks will ship Invigorator for the Macintosh in
early February.
The 3D Invigorator toolset makes 3D titles easy to build, move,
texture, light and animate. The 3D Invigorator uses Adobe
Illustrator files as the basic shapes that are used as the source
for the 3D objects. Illustrator is the defacto standard for
setting type and After Effects for animating titles.
After Effects users who have wanted to add 3D to their
compositions in the past have always had to use an external 3D
program. If any changes were required, as is often the case when
mixing 2D and 3D graphics, the changes would have to be made in
that outside program and reimported into After Effects. With the
3D Invigorator the most common 3D tasks can be done directly
inside of After Effects.
Zaxwerks' 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 uses Apple's OpenGL as its
preview/draft mode renderer for its ability to provide real-time
updates. This technology has been chosen because it can provide
3D rendering without requiring any specialized hardware, yet
takes advantage of OpenGL accelerators such as those provided by
ATI and the Velocity Engine in the Macintosh G4.
Zaxwerks also has its own built-in renderer for handling final
renders. With the OpenGL rendering for real time previews and
this high quality final renderer, neither speed nor quality needs
to be compromised.
The Zaxwerks 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 will be available in February
of 2000 for the Macintosh platform and in April for Windows NT.
The Suggested Retail Price of the 3D Invigorator Rev. 2 is
$595.00 and will be available from most After Effects resellers
as well as directly from Zaxwerks
