***TGS and MKS/DataFocus to Provide 3D-MasterSuite and Open
Inventor for NuTCRACKER
(April 6)

TGS and MKS/DataFocus announced the availability of 3D-
MasterSuite and Open Inventor for NuTCRACKER. 3D-MasterSuite and
NuTCRACKER provide a means move applications from UNIX to the
Windows platform.

3D-MasterSuite is a object-oriented tool set of high-level
classes which also supports the distribution of 3D over the Web
using the VRML Internet file format standard. 3D-MasterSuite v3.5
includes Open Inventor v2.5, as well as LMV-Master, PlotMaster,
VRMLMaster, GraphMaster, and 3D-DataMaster extensions which add
support for large-model visualization, vector output, VRML 2.0,
2D primitives, 2D/3D charting and high-end data visualization.

TGS is also scheduled to release 3DMS Converter, a cross platform
add-on for 3D-MasterSuite that converts geometry from several
major CAD interchange formats into an Open Inventor scene graph.
3DMS Converter will be available in the summer of 1999 and will
also be fully compatible with NuTCRACKER.

NuTCRACKER enables UNIX applications to run natively on the
Windows operating system. Like all native Windows applications,
NuTCRACKER applications can run on Microsoft. Windows NT, Windows
95/98 and Windows 2000 and can take full advantage of Win32, COM
and the complete Windows DNA architecture. You can use NuTCRACKER
for single- or multi-threaded C, C++, or Fortran applications,
shared libraries, and daemons while maintaining a common source
code baseline across all platforms, including UNIX. NuTCRACKER
facilitates a cross-platform, "write once -- deploy anywhere"
development and deployment strategy and preserves existing
investments in UNIX technology and expertise. And with COM now
becoming available on UNIX platforms as well, NuTCRACKER opens up
brand new opportunities for cross-platform component-level
software evolution.
