***IKOS Wins VirtuaLogic Emulator Purchase Agreement from ATI
Technologies
(April 6)

IKOS Systems announced that ATI Technologies has purchased $3.9-
million worth of IKOS' VirtuaLogic emulators. The purchase
agreement covers the acquisition of VirtuaLogic emulators and
related services that ATI will use in the design of its
multimedia solutions and graphics accelerators for PC- and
Macintosh-based systems.

Larry Melling, vice president of business development and
strategic marketing for IKOS noted, "As demonstrated by our
previous announcements with companies such as nVidia, Evans &
Sutherland and Sigma Designs, VirtuaLogic has proven to be an
excellent design verification solution for these and other IKOS
customers developing complex graphics chips. Because chip
developers are able to locate and resolve system level design
discrepancies prior to tape out with VirtuaLogic, using the
emulator in these demanding design environments can result in
significant design quality and cost benefits.

IKOS claims to be a leader in FPGA-based emulation products. Its
patented VirtuaLogic emulator is built upon the innovative
VirtualWires compiler technology that enables the fastest compile
times, 100 percent visibility in the design, and low-cost
emulation. The VirtualWires technology also enables Virtual First
Silicon, so that software and system integrators can begin the
system and software debug process early in the verification
process, as soon as the chip design is stable, as opposed to
waiting for real silicon.
