***Road Runner Gets 250,000 Customers

Road Runner announced that it had in excess of 250,000
subscribers as of the end of first quarter ‘99. Road Runner’s
largest cluster of subscribers is in the northeast region. A data
and operations center located in Chelmsford, Mass., serving about
124 towns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, currently has over
50,000 subscribers with a penetration of 5.17 percent of the
total area served. Twenty-two of these communities have surpassed
penetrations of 10 percent and five have surpassed 15 percent.
Portland, Maine continues to boast the highest Road Runner
penetration of all homes passed by cable in an entire
metropolitan area, capturing 14.55 percent. In addition, several
other large areas are reporting over 5 percent penetrations of
the total homes passed by their cable system including Albany,
New York, Binghamton, New York and San Diego, California.
Road Runner is currently available to approximately 8 million
homes. The service will eventually be able to reach more than 30
million cable homes nationwide.
