***Strategis Group Releases Information Tool that Tracks
Telephony Market

The Strategis Group has released the Telephony ScoreKeeper, a
map-based tool released that keeps track of US telephony
competition. The CD-ROM maps every:
? incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC)
? competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC)
? LMDS licensee

Over 1,300 ILECs are mapped on a statewide basis showing
territories covered. Footprints of RBOCs and other large ILECs
can be seen on a nationwide basis as well as the footprints of
proposed RBOC mergers. Information is also available on number of
POPs covered, NXX count, wire center count, and demographics of
each ILEC territory.

CLECs are focusing on second and third tier markets as they lay
fiber and wireless networks. Telephony ScoreKeeper details the
markets the CLECs are currently operating as well as planned
deployments. Over 30% of BTAs currently have at least one CLEC.

Strategis maps out each LMDS licensee and amounts paid to the FCC
for LMDS licenses.
