Spatial Technology announced the shipment of ACIS 5.1

ACIS 5.1 Features
* AEC component added for architectural and construction
engineering - produces an optimized representation of planar ACIS
bodies.
* Faceted silhouette edges for interactive hidden line and
drawing generation.
* Completed feature naming support within ACIS.
* Selective booleans enhanced for more complex terminations.
* Functions for deep copy of geometry allows programmers to
produce unshared geometry.
* Native 64-bit Silicon Graphics Inc. (SGI) support.
* Interactive Vertex Alignment for loft and skin surface
generation.
* Interactive Space Warping (twisting and bending).
* Real-Time Level of Detail Control allows users to incorporate
more detail in an object by adding more facets during Interactive
Space Warping and viewing. For example, when zooming in and out
of an object, objects that are far away will have fewer facets;
objects that are close-up will have more facets.

Other product releases and enhancements to coincide with the
release of ACIS 5.1 include the first release of the ACIS STEP
Translator Husk and enhancements to the ACIS IGES Translator
Husk.
