Visio announced that its eVisio(tm) Web site has gone live. The
eVisio product line allows for the ability to mix-and-match from
a wide selection of industry- and task-specific Visio drawing and
diagramming solutions.

Using the Visio 5.0 engine as the platform, customers will be
able to configure their own versions based on predefined
functionality sets, or create completely custom eVisio products
from scratch. Every configurable product includes a core
foundation of fundamental diagramming solutions that make all
business communications more powerful and effective - including
stencils, wizards and other diagramming tools enabling fast and
simple creation of organization charts, simple project time
lines, basic office, network and Web site diagrams, geographic
maps, and process and cross-functional flowcharts - online
documentation and Discover Visio Interactive Training (level 1),
as well as online and telephone customer support.

With more than 250 unique configurations, the eVisio product line
lets customers start from five solutions packages (Information
Technology, Engineering, Software Development, Facilities
Management and eVisio Everything) or build their own eVisio
products through the selection of two, six, nine or 13 optional
solutions. Optional solutions include Business Process, Sales and
Marketing, Office Management, Networking, Advanced Networking,
Database, Data Flow Diagrams, Unified Modeling Language (UML),
Object Oriented Software, Windows UI Design, Applications Design,
Process Engineering, Facilities Management, Fluid Power,
Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Building Services
Engineering and Bi-directional CAD Conversion.

Once consumers have logged on and configured the eVisio product
that best fits their needs, they simply fill out their shipping
address and credit card information and submit their online
order. Credit card authorization is immediate, and customers can
access their purchase receipt and a "key" necessary for
installation of their custom-configured eVisio product. Visio
guarantees UPS next day delivery (within the United States) of
the eVisio installation CD-ROM to the customer if the order is
processed before 1 p.m. Pacific time.

Customers can configure and purchase eVisio products online now
in the United States. The eVisio installation CD-ROM is delivered
via UPS next day delivery. Product costs range from $225 (U.S.)
for a basic "build-your-own" package with two solution components
to $640 (U.S.) for the eVisio Everything package, which includes
every shape, wizard and add-on that is currently available in
Visio Standard 5.0c, Visio Technical 5.0 Plus and Visio
Professional 5.0c. Two books, "Using Visio Products" and
"Developing Visio Solutions," are also available for purchase
(for $25 and $29 (U.S.), respectively) through the eVisio Web
site to further help customers and developers maximize Visio's
technology. By the end of April 1999, Visio customers will be
able to log onto eVisio and upgrade their existing Visio
applications to new customized versions of eVisio.
