Samsung Display Devices Offers the Completely Flat Color
Display Tube
(March 19)
Samsung Display Devices Co. (SDD) now offers Dynaflat, a
totally flat 17- and 19-inch color display tubes (CDT) for
monitors.
SDD applied a wide range of technologies to achieve a
resolution level of (1600 x 1200, 75kHz). The SAF-11 electron
gun and super pigment phosphors provide images to the edges of
the screen and enhance range of color reproduction by at least
15%. Specialty glass eliminates external reflections and slight
indentations in the screen, minimizing eye fatigue after
prolonged use. In addition, SDD developed a multi-layer film
called "smart" coating, which enhances clarity and blocks
harmful electromagnetic emissions.
SDD unveiled the new 17- and 19-inch Dynaflat CDT at CeBIT in
Hannover, Germany, in late March. Mass production of the 17-
inch model commences in April, and the 19-inch model is
scheduled to go into mass production in July.
