Zoran Announces SoftDVD II With DirectShow
(March 18)

Zoran Corp. announced that it will demonstrate the second
generation of its SoftDVD. SoftDVD II will offer support for
Microsoft's DirectShow, Microsoft's newest DirectX API
(Application Programming Interface).

Now, with Zoran's newest SoftDVD version, developers will also
be able to assemble complex and exciting applications, with
features like MPEG 2 video, AC-3 audio, multiple subtitle,
language, audio and camera angle tracks, and a powerful
navigation engine. SoftDVD II will support both Microsoft
Windows 95 and Windows 98, which will have DirectShow
integrated into the operating system. Two unique features
included in SoftDVD II's interface are the abilities to perform
time searches and to set bookmarks. By selecting the time
search feature, users can type the desired time they wish to
move to directly into the SoftDVD II interface. With the new
Bookmark function, users can set multiple bookmarks in a movie
and create a unique playlist of their favorite scenes to share
with their friends and relatives by email or over the Internet.
