Intel Announces Completion of Merger With Chips and
Technologies, Inc.
(February 2)
Intel Corporation announced that at 11:59 p.m. Friday
Jan. 30, 1998, Intel Enterprise Corporation merged
with and into Chips and Technologies, Inc. Chips and
Technologies became a wholly owned subsidiary of
Intel Corporation, part of Intel's Graphics Component
Division.

Eidos Announces The Sale Of Simis
Simis is returning to its former role as an
independent
developer following Eidos' sale of Simis to two of
its former owners: Ian Baverstock and Jonathan Newth.
Simis will continue to develop 'Xenocracy' for
Grolier Interactive and 'Missing In Action' for GT
Interactive. A new publishing arrangement for Simis'
high-end helicopter sim 'Team Apache' will be a top
priority as Eidos have announced that they will not
be publishing the title. Eidos will continue to
license the current Simis engine for existing
projects with the new management taking over the non-
Eidos licenses for the engine.
