Boutique Kicks-Off Monster 3D II Pre-Order Program

Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. announced a pre-
order program with Electronics Boutique for Diamond
Multimedia's new Monster 3D II, a high-performance
8MB 3D game accelerator featuring the Voodoo2 chipset
from 3Dfx Interactive.
Electronics Boutique's pre-order program allows
customers to secure one of the industry's hottest
products by purchasing the Monster 3D II in any of
its 450 stores in the United States and twenty-five
stores in Canada with just a ten dollar deposit.
Internet users also have the ability to pre-purchase
the card by going to Electronic Boutique's website,
and clicking on the Monster 3D II box. Customers that
pre-purchase the Monster 3D II over the Internet will
not be charged until the product ships.
Diamond's new Monster 3D II features the 3Dfx Voodoo2
chipset and a powerful 8MB memory design to deliver
more than three times the 3D performance of the
company's original Monster 3D. Diamond also provides
a MEGAMonster option that allows users to potentially
double their system's 3D performance by using two
Monster 3D II accelerators simultaneously. Monster 3D
II, with a sizable software bundle, including the
Limited Edition Star Wars Game Pack from Lucas Arts
Entertainment Co. as well as Activision's Heavy Gear
(full version), TombRaider II (special version) by
Eidos Interactive(TM) and more, will begin shipping
in March for an estimated retail price of $249.95.

Diamond Multimedia Teams Up With Future Shop to Offer
the New Monster 3D II for Customer Pre-Order

Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. announced an
exclusive arrangement with Future Shop to make the
new Monster 3D II, an 8MB high-performance 3D game
accelerator powered by the Voodoo2 chipset from 3Dfx
Interactive, available for customers to pre-order and
be among the first owners to install this advanced 3D
technology into their PCs. With more than 100
stores, Future Shop is the largest retailer of
computers and consumer electronic products in Canada
and also serves the northwestern portion of the
United States with retail stores in Washington,
Oregon, Montana, Idaho and Utah.
To pre-reserve the Monster 3D II, customers can visit
any Future Shop and ask a sales associate about the
Monster 3D II pre-order program and reserve a
product. Customers will be given a "no charge"
printed invoice with a sales number and will be
notified by Future Shop when their product arrives.
Customers who purchase the Monster 3D II will also be
offered discount pricing on specific software titles.
Monster 3D II will begin shipping in March for an

Diamond Multimedia's Monster 3D II is the First
Hardware Product to be Available Through CompUSA's
Customer Product Pre-Order Program

Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. announced that it
has signed an agreement with Dallas-based CompUSA to
offer its Monster 3D II, a high-powered 3D game
accelerator, through the nationwide retailer's
customer pre-order program. Effectively immediately,
Diamond's Monster 3D II will be the first hardware
product in CompUSA's history to be available through
its product reserve program, previously reserved for
software products exclusively. Diamond Multimedia's
Monster 3D II, also announced utilizes 3Dfx
Interactive's highly anticipated Voodoo2 chipset.
Under the terms of the agreement, Diamond's Monster
3D II is the exclusive 3Dfx Voodoo2-based solution
available through CompUSA's pre-order program.
To pre-order through CompUSA, customers can visit the
Software Sampler(SM) department of the store and log
onto the retailer's computerized product reservation
system. A product photograph and description of the
Diamond Monster 3D II is provided, allowing customers
to quickly identify their product-of-choice.
Customers then click on the "Reserve Your Copy" box
and follow the prompts to enter their name, address
and phone number to reserve product. Upon the
product's arrival at the store, CompUSA sends a
postcard letting the customer know that the product
is available. Consumers can also pre-order through
the CompUSA Direct mail order catalogue or online at

Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. announced an
agreement with Babbage's Etc.in which Diamond's new
Monster 3D II, will be offered to customers through
the retailer's pre-order program. IN March, customers
can pre-purchase or reserve Diamond's Monster 3D II
at more than 470 stores nationwide.
Per the agreement, Diamond's Monster 3D II is the
exclusive 3Dfx Voodoo2-based solution available to
consumers through Babbage's Etc.'s pre-order program.
Monster 3D II, including software bundle, will begin
