Interactive Pictures and Kodak to Bring Immersive
Digital Camera System to New Markets
(February 12)
Interactive Pictures Corporation announced that it is
working with Eastman Kodak Company to incorporate an
IPIX imaging accessory kit with Kodak's Digital
Science DC200 camera. This collaboration marks
Interactive Pictures' expansion into the industrial
and high-end user or "prosumer" markets, making IPIX
image capabilities available and affordable to more
small businesses, home professionals, and Web
developers than ever before.
Interactive Pictures is the creator of a class of
patented photography technology that is being adopted
by real estate, photojournalism, entertainment and
tourism companies. Compared to traditional flat
photographs seen on the World Wide Web today, IPIX
are three dimensional, 360x360 degree photographic
images that enable the user to become completely
immersed in the photograph and navigate within the
image with the click of a mouse. The Kodak/IPIX
immersive photography solution will include the Kodak
Digital Science DC200, and the IPIX imaging accessory
kit (fisheye lens, tripod and mounted rotator and
IPIX software). The combination will provide a
compact and affordable solution that can create an
IPIX image within seconds.
